Randolph “Randy” P. McGrorty
Randolph “Randy” P. McGrorty is the founding CEO of Catholic Legal Services of the Archdiocese of Miami, a role he has held since helping establish the agency in 1994.
Under Randy’s leadership, Catholic Legal Services assists approximately 3,000 individuals each month, including families seeking reunification, refugees fleeing persecution, survivors of domestic violence, and longtime U.S. residents facing deportation. The organization is one of the country’s largest providers of immigration legal services to the Haitian community and has played a leading role in securing legal representation for unaccompanied minors in removal proceedings.
Randy’s life is a witness to the Gospel call to respect human dignity and protect the most vulnerable, especially migrants and refugees. After a brief period in private practice, he joined the Jesuit Refugee Service in 1993, where he worked with Haitian refugees paroled from Guantánamo Bay.
A nationally recognized advocate and speaker on immigration and asylum law, Randy has received numerous honors, including the Adalsinda Lomangino Award, the St. Vincent de Paul Award from the Archdiocese of Miami, and the Community Advocacy Award from Legal Aid of Broward County.
Randy was a member of Rostro de Cristo’s founding Board of Directors and has remained a steadfast supporter of the organization’s mission. He has visited volunteers and partners in Ecuador and played a key role in supporting Rostro de Cristo’s transition to the Dominican Republic and outreach to Haitian communities in Consuelo.
A magna cum laude graduate of Harvard University, Randy earned both his Juris Doctor and Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin and pursued additional studies in refugee issues at Oxford University.
Rostro de Cristo is proud to honor Randy for his extraordinary commitment to justice and the dignity of every person.
